I've spent my career making Mississauga safer. Now I'm running for Ward 7.

Gerald Adad, candidate for Mississauga City Council Ward 7
Why I'm running

Crime prevention is my life's work. Let's make Ward 7 a safer and happier place - together.

Hi there! I'm Gerald Adad, I've been a lifelong resident of Mississauga since my parents moved our family here in 1996. As a child of Mississauga, I grew up in the Cooksville and Mississauga Valley neighbourhoods. I especially spent a lot of time in Cooksville during my high school years as a student of Father Michael Goetz. As far back as my Goetz Gator days, I knew I wanted to be in community service. Mississauga had been good to me and my family, as it was to many other immigrant families, and it was only right for me to dedicate my life to giving back to our city.

During my time at Safe City Mississauga, I worked extensively and collaboratively with Peel Regional Police, City Council, different levels of government, other non-profits, and of course, the community itself to come to collaborative crime prevention solutions for everything from vehicle theft to hate crime.

My years in this work have brought me back to Ward 7, where I have worked extensively with the Cooksville BIA and many neighbourhoods across the Ward. In many ways, these last few years have been a return to home as I really got the chance to retread the neighbourhoods that played a part in my formative years.

In 2026, I have heard from many residents in Ward 7 and across the city about continuing concerns about community safety and the future of our city as we continue to grow. This fall, I hope to continue serving our great city as your Councillor and work together to bring a safer and happier future for our community!

A record you can trust

Not a promise.
A track record.

Most candidates discover community safety at election time. I've done it for a living.

My work at Safe City Mississauga

I ran our Neighbourhood Watch program, now more than 6,000 members strong, and I launched Business Watch in Cooksville to protect our businesses and build bridges with local law enforcement.

Connecting youth with the people who keep us safe

I worked with Peel Regional Police on community safety and well-being, mentoring young people and building trust between police and the neighbourhoods they serve.

I'm a certified International Crime Prevention Specialist with CPTED certification, trained to design streets and spaces that are safer by default.

Respected collaborative leadership

I chaired Peel Regional Police's Countering Hate Committee to lead 35 partners - including service providers, advocacy groups, and both municipalities - to co-design and deliver anti-hate programming to over 4000+ community members across Peel. This work attracted international attention when I was invited to speak on this work at the 4th International 2SLGBTQ+ Conference for Criminal Justice Professionals in Austin, Texas.

Relationships & Influence

Relationships that build results

I have built strong relationships with our Council that has resulted in the advancement of crime prevention in Mississauga and stable funding for local crime prevention programs like Neighbourhood Watch. I have even worked with Council to help youth lobby for the adoption of green development standards, which was passed unanimously!

What I'll fight for

Safe. Strong. Happy.

Three commitments for Ward 7, built on the safety work I spent my career on.

01 Safe

Safety you can feel on every street

Public safety is the foundation everything else stands on. I'll bring the same crime-prevention work I built my career on straight into Ward 7.

We will align the police, local government, non-profits and community champions to develop coordinated crime prevention strategies that are guided by data and co-designed by the community, for the community.

02 Strong

Neighbourhoods that work for the people who live here

We will build neighbourhood resilience through resident education and inviting community champions to co-design and deliver city building strategies. We will also align local neighbourhoods with Cooksville businesses to encourage local spending, improve affordability, and build economic resilience from within the Ward.

03 Happy

A community proud to call Ward 7 home

The happiness of residents should always be the base metric for the success of government. Happiness need not only be accessible through sweeping policy reform, but also through noticeable improvements in people's day-to-day lives. We can easily provide this through community building, public art, improving walkability and public transit, and ensuring value from City services.

Know your ward

This is Ward 7.

From the heart of Cooksville to the street you call home, Ward 7 is one of the most diverse parts of Mississauga.
